Greetings from a Curriculum Novice

This is not a blog with answers instead it is a blog seeking answers. I want to know what makes for a good curriculum and how do you design something that both engages students and teachers.

This blog will go about seeking answers to these question:

Can you create the perfect curriculum?

Is there such a thing as the perfect curriculum?

How do you get teachers to become engaged in creating the curriculum on a volunteer basis?

  1. Hi Kelly,
I don't think there is any such thing as a perfect curriculum, unless it is one that you are constantly adjusting and changing to fit the needs of a changing student population and to accommodate new information and performance expectations. So maybe there is a 'perfect' curriculum: the work in progress!

  2. Good questions, Kelley. Without being too flip, the only perfect curriculum is the one that exists in the next town over...the grass is always greener syndrome!

And by definition, curriculum work is always ongoing...never finished.
